Do-It-Yourself Google Cardboard Headstrap
Google Cardboard can be super cool and cheap but its lack of any headstrap makes it less fun to use and tiring on the arms. Here’s a good DIY trick you can try.
Get some cloth elastic band. This can be something that’s lying around your room or you bought yourself from some souvenir store. Make sure that it can fit snugly around your head when it’s fully stretched out. Using elastic band with a cloth like texture is even better. As it won’t irritate your skin when you wear your new VR headset.
Get a double sided tape. Just choose a tape that can stick to your chosen elastic band and the Google Cardboard side.
Start assembly. Stick a strip of tape on the ends of the elestic band. Stick these ends on the top part of both sides of your Google Cardboard. Measure the fit before finalizing the last side.
Try the fit. If the virtual reality headset keeps sliding down your face, then it’s too loose. If it’s hurting your nose or forehead, then it’s too tight. Adjust the fit to enjoy virtual reality to the fullest.
