The Huawei Honor 5X made headlines for itself as the battle to dominate the market in terms of sales is on. Will this make Huawei climb from 3rd to 2nd?
Huawei, as a company, became the world’s third largest smartphone vendor but progress during the past few months are mostly kept in secret. However, there are some news that just bursts out and hogs the headlines with some great figures giving the public a good view of how the company is doing.
The entire shipment for 2016 is projected to reach 140 million with the P9 and P9 Plus getting a major part of the pie with 10 millions units. Other models, like the P8 Lite, even accumulated up to 10 million orders just from May 2015 to February 2016 alone. The Mate 8 with a whopping 1 million sales in less than a month in Chinese stores.
The Honor 5X is a special one in this lineup of achievements from the same company that did some innovations that could rival the big names in the business. This 5.5-inch smartphone just made it to the 8 million mark in terms of the units sold in less than half a year. With the expected price cuts, making it over the 10 million mark would be so easy.
On the time it was released, the 5X was a great hit in the US (January) and Europe (February). This also includes China which started selling the 5X last November 2015. 8 million units is very impressive indeed, especially with it being accomplished in just a very short period of time.
