Meet the HTC Vive Business Edition
VR or virtual reality is primarily marketed towards gaming, immersive entertainment and music experience. Now, HTC targets the enterprise sector with a special Vive.
Virtual Reality is still in its infancy and for the pace that it has been developing it’s got a very good potential to change the way we interface with our devices. In terms of business revenue, it hasn’t outperformed the more conventional way smartphone produce money. But the HTC and Valve co-developed HTC Vive headsets for the enterprise sector mostly for business use.
The HTC Vive BE (BE for Business Edition) is a $1200 VR headset meant to capture the huge demand from industries worldwide to employ virtual reality technology in commercial applications. The Vive BE will be launched in the US, Canada, UK, Germany and France. Global shipment will be coming in a few weeks time after that. Each package will include the actual headset, two controllers, two base stations, a 3-in-1 cable, and some face cushions for comfort.
The difference between a reference HTC Vive to an HTC Vive BE is a dedicated customer support team that will support clients who purchased the headsets 24/7. This particular model is also covered by a 12-month limited warranty. This is most likely the same $800 HTC Vive most consumers will get but the HTC Vive BE is more targeted to business use.
