OnePlus: How to reset OnePlus 3T

How do you fix a broken OnePlus 3T that’s acting slow or having problems with the memory? You reset it. Clear it up with these tips and tricks.

Soft reset

  1. If your display is off, turn it back on using the power key.

  2. Open the “Settings” application.

  3. Scroll down until you find “Backup & Reset.”

  4. Tap on “Factory data reset.”

  5. Select “Reset phone.”

  6. Tap on the box “Erase everything.”

  7. The device should automatically reboot

Hard reset

  1. Turn your phone off by pressing down the power key for five seconds.

  2. Turn the phone back on while keeping the volume down button pressed in.

  3. When the phone vibrates, release the volume down button.

  4. Your phone should enter a mode called Simple Recovery.

  5. Choose the option that reads “Wipe Cache Partition” using the power button.

  6. You should get a message that says “Cache wipe complete.”

  7. Continue to choose the option “Wipe Data/ Factory reset.”

  8. The phone should automatically reboot.

Wipe cache partition

  1. Turn your phone off by pressing down the power key for five seconds

  2. Turn the phone back on while keeping the volume down button pressed in

  3. When the phone vibrates, release the volume down button

  4. Your phone should enter a mode called “Simple Recovery.”

  5. Choose the option that reads “Wipe Cache Partition” using the power button

  6. You should get a message that says “Cache wipe complete.”

Booting into Safe Mode

  1. Turn off the device.

  2. Once off, press and hold the power button until the device starts booting up.

  3. As soon as it starts loading, press and hold the volume up and volume down keys simultaneously.

  4. Continue holding these buttons until the boot up is complete.

  5. Unlocking the device, you should see it having booted up into Safe Mode.
