The bottom line is it\’s final. The next Galaxy Note from Samsung will officially be called the Samsung Galaxy Note 7.
The current Note 5 will be replaced with the newer version, the Note 7, according to Evan Blass. There will be a lot of reasons but the main one is the company\’s decision to align the names of the Note family with the Galaxy S family. Another reason is to give a direct competition to the next iteration of the iPhone, the iPhone 7 Plus.
Samsung has been historically announcing the newest Note at IFA in Berlin, but there have also been exceptions to the rule. This year, the South Korean company is expected to hold a special event at the beginning of August where the Galaxy Note7 will see the light of day.

Technically, the Galaxy Note 7 is the Galaxy Note 6 that was skipped in order to sync the number with Samsung\’s smartphone flagship, the S7 and S7 Edge. This also poses a good competing ground against the upcoming iPhone 7.
To prepare for the official announcement less than two months from now, Samsung is allegedly giving itself leverage by having five million units ready on the day of the launch. It is 2.5 million for July and another 2.5 million for August. The rumored Galaxy Note 7 will most likely also have a dual-edge display much like what the Galaxy S7 Edge have right now.
The rumors for the Note 7 also includes a great change in overall appearance. So much excitement surrounds this monstrous productivity device.
The Note 7 May have an Iris Scanner After All
After the release of the Samsung Galaxy Tab Iris in India, Samsung may have even more reasons to integrate this useful and successful feature to the next Note.
Passcode, fingerprint scanner, and the iris scanner can be Samsung\’s next big thing! Images have leaked of the Note 7 having an option in the Settings app to activate iris authentication. A few weeks ago, the Galaxy Tab Iris was released in India with the same hardware and feature. Will the Galaxy Note 7 have the same feature in the works?
Various OEM have had some experiments with the technology. Microsoft had the Windows Hello that brought iris scanning to Windows 10 Mobile. ZTE, on the other hand, also spent some time with the iris scanner. Samsung, with its known expertise in this field of technology can lead the way to develop another way of securing our devices.
