❤ HTC Unveils Desire 12 and Desire 12 Plus

Big to see, small to hold.

HTC Desire 12+ boasts our biggest 6” display in the Desire series, and along with a 5.5” display on HTC Desire 12, you will be surprised how elegantly they both fit in your hand. The modern and sleek design exhibits the beauty of the U series with the iconic liquid surface wrapped around the most compact and lightweight 18:9 phones we’ve ever made.

DISPLAY

Big screen that’s easy to handle.

With a stunning 18:9 and 6” screen, HTC Desire 12+ gives you a bigger and better viewing experience to enjoy the things you love. The slender frame offers a comfortable single-handed experience and easy maneuverablity.

HTC Desire 12+ has a 6-inch (diagonal) screen. HTC Desire 12 has a 5.5-inch (diagonal) 5.5” screen.

DUAL CAMERA

Artistic photos with every shot.

Dual cameras on HTC Desire 12+ capture multiple focal points simultaneously letting you refocus photographs after they are taken or add a bokeh effect. Bokeh mode gives you sharp foregrounds and naturally blurred backgrounds for more artistic photography.
Dual rear cameras only available on the HTC Desire 12+. HTC Desire 12 has a single 13MP rear camera.

CAMERA

Hold on to those special moments.

Capture beautiful and vivid photographs, day or night, with the 13MP main camera on the HTC Desire 12 and HTC Desire 12+. And the Phase Detection Autofocus will ensure you get clear details even if your subject is on the move.

SELFIES ANYTIME

Clear portraits in any environment.

The large ƒ/2.0 aperture in the front camera of HTC Desire 12+ lets in more light for accurate details in low light settings. Get clear and well-lit selfies thanks to a front-facing LED flash or enjoy the soft-tone selfie light for a natural glow in any environment.

The ƒ/2.0 aperture and front LED flash is only available on HTC Desire 12+. HTC Desire 12 has a ƒ/2.4 aperture and no flash on the front camera.

HTC officially announced a pair of new smartphones that will add to the long-running Desire lineup.

HTC lifted the curtain on the Desire 12 and the Desire 12+. Both of the devices share the same design cues, with minimized bezels and 18:9 aspect ratios, but, as is par for the course with these types of launches, the specs on each are where the key differences come into play.

The Desire 12+ is the flagship of early 2018 for the Desire family. It has a 6-inch display with the aforementioned aspect ratio, and a resolution of 1440×720. Under the hood there is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of built-in storage. It is also equipped with a pair of SIM card slots, as well as a microSD card slot for expandable storage. The battery measures in at 2965mAh, it has a USB-C port, a headphone jack, and it’s running Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.

There are two cameras on the back: The first being a 13-megapixel shooter, and the second being a 2MP camera. Around front, there is an 8MP front-facing camera with an LED flash.

Meanwhile, the Desire 12 has a 5.5-inch 720p HD display, will have a MediaTek processor, and come in variants of either 2GB/16GB or 3GB/32GB options. There is a single 13MP camera on the back with an HDR mode and an aperture of f/2.2, and a 5MP front-facing camera on the other side. It, too, has dual SIM slots, a microSD card slot for expandable storage, a USB-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Both of the new phones feature HTC’s “liquid surface” color options, which certainly make them stand out. Unfortunately, HTC didn’t go into any details as to when these devices will be available, or how much they will cost, or even where they will launch. We’ll have to wait a bit longer to get that information.
